For Dr. Cody Wallace, ministry has always been more than a vocation—it is a lifelong calling to follow Christ faithfully and help others do the same.
His life and ministry are grounded in Romans 12:1–2, a passage that calls believers to offer their lives fully to God and to be transformed through the renewing of their minds. That commitment has shaped his journey as a pastor, teacher, administrator, author, and disciple-maker. His desire is not simply to teach people what the Bible says, but to help them grow into mature followers of Jesus who live out their faith in every area of life.
Dr. Wallace has devoted his ministry to biblical teaching, discipleship, Christian education, and developing others for ministry. Whether preaching from the pulpit, teaching in the classroom, mentoring leaders, or walking alongside individuals and families, he believes discipleship is a lifelong journey of becoming more like Christ and helping others do the same.
His own commitment to lifelong learning reflects that conviction. Dr. Wallace earned a MDiv in Biblical Studies and a Doctor of Ministry in Discipleship from Liberty University and continues advanced doctoral study with a PhD in Biblical Spirituality at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His academic work centers on biblical discipleship, spiritual formation, and the believer's motivation to live faithfully in light of Christ's return.
He is also an author and teacher whose work seeks to make biblical truth understandable and applicable to everyday life. Yet behind each of these roles remains the same purpose that first drew him to ministry: to faithfully follow Jesus, teach His Word, invest in people, and make disciples who make disciples.
Dr. Wallace credits his wife, Meg, and their three young-adult children as a constant source of inspiration, encouragement, and support throughout his life and ministry.
Pastor John Echeverria
Associate Pastor
For Pastor John, ministry is centered on a deep commitment to God’s Word, making disciples, and reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Pastor John has served in ministry since 2002. Throughout his years of service, he has remained passionate about faithfully teaching and preaching the uncompromising truth of Scripture. His desire is to help believers grow in their relationship with Christ while also reaching those who have yet to know Him.
Pastor John studied at National Bible College, where he had the opportunity to learn under Greek and theology professor Dr. Norman C. Sellers. He is currently completing his B.A. in Biblical Studies through Miami Bible Institute, continuing a lifelong commitment to studying Scripture and growing as a teacher of God’s Word.
As Associate Pastor at Southwest Community Church, Pastor John seeks to serve people with faithfulness and compassion, equip believers to become mature disciples of Christ, and proclaim the gospel to the surrounding community.
Outside of ministry, John enjoys reading, playing golf, and watching sports. He is happily married to the love of his life, Melina, and together they have two children.
At the heart of his ministry is a simple desire: to faithfully preach God’s Word, make disciples of Jesus, and help others experience the transforming power of the gospel.
