Miami Bible Institute:
Striving for Excellence, Approved by God, Guided by Truth.
Our Mission
To equip students through a biblically grounded, application-driven curriculum that shapes transformative, Christlike servants—skilled in rightly handling the Word of Truth, boldly proclaiming the gospel, strengthening the Church, and multiplying faithful disciples.
Our History
In 1974, as Southwest Community Church grew, so did the need for Bible-based education in South Florida. Under the leadership of Pastor Bob Miller, SWCC founded the Southwest Institute of Biblical Studies (SWIBS). The institute became part of a strong community of theological education in Miami, with professors from institutions such as Miami Christian College and Florida Bible College also teaching at SWIBS.
As other Christian colleges expanded, SWIBS eventually ceased operations. Decades later, changing educational opportunities once again created a need for accessible biblical training in South Florida.
In 2024, Dr. Cody Wallace and the SWCC Board of Elders established the Miami Bible Institute (MBI)—building on the legacy of SWIBS for a new generation. In 2025, MBI expanded to offer certificate programs and a degree-completion track.
MBI exists to equip students to understand Scripture, develop sound theology, and apply biblical truth in their lives, churches, and communities.
